Lime Crime’s founder Doe Deere dishes on her morning routine

Beauty expert and lover of cats, Doe Deere is taking on the cosmetic industry one bright color at a time. Born and raised in Russia, she moved to New York City at the ripe age of 17 where she pursued a music career. Through that she learned about business and marketing, a skill that comes into play everyday with her makeup brand Lime Crime.

She sat down with Savior Flair to talk about her morning routine. Many successful people have it down to a science, and Doe Deere is no different. It all starts at 8:30 in the morning. This morning person does not need an alarm clock, just her natural inner alarm that tells her when to wake up every morning. Not everyone has this ability to do this, most people need an alarm clock. Doe loves her morning routine. She loves eating breakfast in her kitchen, looking out the window, and contemplating the day. It’s almost therapeutic to her. Her favorite breakfast item is grits, which is a hot cereal. She also enjoys yogurt, fruit, and orange juice. She has a orange tree in her yard, so she makes it fresh squeezed. She also drinks a full glass of water to stay hydrated and stretches. Like any young person, she gets on her phone. She checks her email, answers questions, looks at Instagram, and talks to her team at the office. They have a private internal company chat. That way she is in the loop with what’s going on.

As Doe does her makeup, music accompanies her. She listens to an array of musicians, but right now she’s digging The Beatles. When she was a child she use to listen to Abbey Road on vinyl, and it is a fond memory for her. Like most people, she washes her face and moisturizes. Doe swears by moisturizer before makeup because cosmetics tend to be very drying. Next comes foundation, powder, and then she fills in he brows. Blush and lipstick accompanies the whole look, and is her favorite part. She goes with a pink or red lip to finalize the look. She wears her purple hair down and in loose curls, her signature look. Her two cats (Puffy Fluffles and Chester von Battingham) get her full attention and love. She spends a little time with them in the morning. Soon after she gets to her office at 12, where she has lunch with her team and discusses business. Doe attends meeting until around six o’clock when she goes home. If it is a particularly busy day she may stay until 12 in the morning. That concludes a very busy day in the life of Lime Crime’s founder and CEO Doe Deere.
